In line with the directives of the Centre, Government of Meghalaya on Wednesday approved the Draft Meghalaya Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Scheme 2023.
The award was received by Minister in-charge Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ampareen Lyngdoh, at the 5th Edition of SDG Summit held in New Delhi on September 27-28.
It may be recalled that Meghalaya is rolling out the Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission (MECDM), which is the first of its kind initiative in the country.
A notification issued in this regard said that the State Education Commission shall come into force with immediate effect and its term shall be for two years.
He further highlighted the significance of adopting a holistic perspective that encompasses education, health, and well-being throughout a person's entire lifecycle, while designing programmes and interventions in the education sector.
