Rakkam Sangma, in his speech, urged the newly appointed teachers to not just take up this responsibility for the salary but to serve the people, serve the children, and serve the state, and that the salary is a reward for their service. He also mentioned in his speech that for three years, as many as 26 government L.P. schools were “teacherless” and that due to many issues such as COVID and various other problems, the recruitment was delayed. “In consultation with the Honourable Chief Minister, we have tried to speed up the process and maybe have recruited more than 1300 teachers in the last two or three months. I can say that it’s one of the shortest and fastest recruitments that has happened in the state.”

Heartfelt congratulations were also extended to all the newly appointed teachers, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of Meghalaya. James Sangma said in his speech, “By welcoming these new features into our midst today, we are demonstrating our deep commitment to our children’s future, which is very important.”And I believe—I firmly believe—that improving our state starts with ensuring our children have access to outstanding educators, which all of you are today.”

Amidst a backdrop of optimism, the event underscored the significance of nurturing a vibrant teaching community dedicated to imparting knowledge and fostering holistic development. It served as an inspiring commencement for the appointed teachers, instilling a sense of purpose and commitment as they embarked on their noble vocation.

The conclave concluded on a note of aspiration and camaraderie, as the teachers embraced their roles with fervour and determination. With the collective resolve to uplift and empower future generations, they set forth on their journey with optimism, resilience, and a steadfast dedication to excellence in education.
