The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) in Ri Bhoi District has officially lodged a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District, demanding legal measures be taken against those responsible for alleged extortion of funds from vehicles transporting chickens bound for export to Meghalaya.
HITO president D Dkhar said that they had sought a response from the government on this subject but due to the failure of the government to respond they approached the High Court.
