In response to the recent issuance of demand notes in the name of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC), the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) has stepped forward to support those affected. The HNYF President of East Khasi Hills District, Bless Dkhar, urged individuals who have received such demand notes to approach the HNYF for assistance rather than resorting to media disclosures without providing necessary details for verification

This came a day after a news report surfaced that the banned outfit allegedly sending demand notes and extortion letter to one civilian.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday said that the government will examine the demand of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) for amnesty.
