The passenger has been identified as Biswajit Debnath(41). Debnath was flying on a Guwahati-Agartala IndiGo flight when he tried to open the emergency exit of the aircraft before his co-passengers pulled him back.
The flight landing at the airport is affected for last few months due to unavailability of the Instrument Landing System because of the ongoing runway extension work.
Last month, a Dibrugarh-bound IndiGo flight was diverted to Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International after the pilot of the plane announced snag in engine of the aircraft.
The Indigo flight no 6E 2652 was coming from Chennai to Dibrugarh carrying 184 passengers including Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs Prashant Pukan & Terash Gowla
