Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Syiem said the issue of price rise is not confined to the state alone as it affects the whole nation. He emphasized that the government must take measures to alleviate the increasing prices of essential items, which have adversely affected the common man.

Dismissing any notion of a link between tourism and the Inner Line Permit (ILP), Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma emphasised the distinct nature of these two subjects while addressing concerns about illegal immigration in the state.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday informed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured to examine issues related to Inner Line Permit (ILP), inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages and others raised by the State delegation.
