Experts at an awareness programme on International Tiger Day 2025 at the University of Science and Technology( USTM) Meghalaya spoke on the critical role of tigers in maintaining ecological balance and the need for farsighted conservation measures through public awareness, research, and community participation.

The Department of Zoology, University of Science & Technology Meghalaya (USTM) and Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden, Guwahati jointly celebrated International Tiger Day in the Assam state zoo premises on Monday, to spread awareness and educate people about the apex predators of the system with the threats and issues they are facing.
