Tura, June 23: The Tura Football League 2026-27, organised by the District Football Association (DFA), got underway on Tuesday at the Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) Playground in Chandmary, Tura.

The tournament opened with two entertaining Second Division fixtures. In the first match, Chada United SA (CUSA) produced a dominant performance to thrash Chisakgre YC 8-2. The second encounter witnessed a thrilling contest as A•beng YC and Greenwood played out an eight-goal thriller, ending in a 4-4 draw.
All matches are being played in a 40-minute-per-half format.

A total of 28 teams are competing in the Second Division, with the teams divided into seven groups : Group A to Group G—each consisting of four teams.
The First Division competition will feature 10 teams split equally into Group A and Group B. The opening First Division match is scheduled for June 27 at 3:00 pm, with Doreng Sporting taking on Northern United at the GBHSS Playground in Chandmary.

Meanwhile, the Super Division will feature eight teams in the first round.
The opening Super Division fixture is set for July 4 at 3:00 pm, when Maram FC face Araimile SCC at the P.A. Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre, Tura.
