The Government of Meghalaya Directorate of Arts and Culture inaugurated the Umbrella Project on Monday at the District Auditorium and Distric Library in Tura.

A day after Section 144 CrPC was withdrawn from in and around Tura town, the West Garo Hills district administration has decided to also withdraw the night curfew that has been in place for the past four nights, since Monday.
In an order passed on Thursday, West Garo Hills District Magistrate Jagdish Chelani said Section 144 CrPC will be withdrawn from 5 AM onwards of July 28, 2023 since the situation in and around Tura has returned to normal.
