Following the recent setback, the opposition Congress has decided to move court against the merger of its three MLAs with the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) even as it will soon take a call on whether to pull out of executive committee in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the convener and Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) chief, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, at Tripura Castle in Shillong here on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters after the CEC meeting, UDP chief Metbah Lyngdoh said, “We are yet to know when the ADC elections are going to be held but we feel it is high time for the party to reorganize itself at the state, district and block level as part of gearing up its preparation.”
