The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on Tuesday witnessed a lengthy discussion on the plight of the areca nut plantation or betel nut farmers.

Speaking as the chief guest at the district level celebration of Meghalaya's 52nd statehood day at the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, organized by the Deputy Commissioner's office in Jowai, Rymbui, the current MLA of Amlarem constituency, talked about the contribution of the state founders and urged every citizen to embrace positivity for the collective development of the district.
