In another major setback for the North Eastern region towards self-sufficiency in power generation, a massive landslide has hit the 2,000 Mega Watt (MW) Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project in Arunachal Pradesh.
In this landslide, one house was partially buried by mud and debris, causing damage to the structure. Unfortunately, four people lost their lives, which included the father, mother, and two children.
The heavy rainfall and unstable terrain were believed to be the main factors contributing to the landslide. However, Police and people from disaster management arrived on the scene for inquiry.
