East Jaintia Hills police on Thursday resorted to firing several rounds of tear gas and lathi charge after protesters attacked a venue at Lumshnong village where a public hearing was being held. The protest was against the proposed expansion of M/s Meghalaya Cement Ltd (Topcem).
Sikkim police resorted to a lati-charge and fired multiple rounds of tear gas to disperse the agitated protesters of Padam Gurung justice rally called by All Sikkim Gurung (Tamu) Buddhist Association at Namchi town in Sikkim on Monday.
