Manipur is on the boil yet again after violence continued for second day on Saturday after an elderly person was killed by suspected militants and in 'retaliation' of gunning down of four Kuki militants in Jiribam, taking the total number of deceased to six within 2 days.
The never ending violence in Manipur valley has yet again escalated after militants launched rocket attacks at two seperate locations, including the residence of Mairembam Koireng Singh, the state's first chief minister.
In response to the recent ethnic violence that gripped Manipur since May 3 2023, the State Government has swiftly mobilised proactive initiatives aimed at providing relief and rehabilitation for internally displaced individuals under the mentorship of the Supreme Court appointed Committee headed by Justice Gita Mittal.
The event was organized to remember and mourn the loss of hundreds of innocent lives in the ongoing state-sponsored ethnic cleansing targeting the Kuki-Zo community.
Protest, peace appeals mark a year of ethnic conflicts in Manipur. As part of one such symbolic protest, seven women shaved their heads and took part in a cycle rally to spread the message of peace and unity in Manipur on Friday.
