The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Education Cell, along with the North Eastern Hills University Students’ Union (NEHUSU), staged a protest on Wednesday against the delayed release of students' scholarships for the year 2022-2023 at the MBOSE office in Shillong.
The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) unveiled the examination schedule for both the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) on Tuesday.
The chief minister said the exercise is important because the government is concerned about the overall education system. The decision was also taken after conducting a thorough research and consultation with different stakeholders at different levels in the education system.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday said the youth are the greatest assets and resource of the State, and the Government is committed to ensure that the potential of the youth is harnessed to its optimum.
Conrad Sangma graced the event as the chief guest; Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma was the guest of honour; and the chief secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, D.P. Wahlang, Â attended the event as the special guest.
Addressing a huge gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister said MBOSE is one of the best Boards in the whole country, and acknowledged the significant progress and development in the education sector of the region inspite of various challenges, which the board has actively fostered.
