Two alert off-duty Guardsmen of the Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards on Thursday apprehended a person red-handed when he was trying to steal a generator from the premises behind the 3rd Secretariat.
The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territory Organisation (HITO) rally turned chaotic as state Police had to resort to using tear gas on HITO members after they attempted to storm the main secretariat building.
