Shillong, Dec 19: Two alert off-duty Guardsmen of the Meghalaya Secretariat Home Guards on Thursday apprehended a person red-handed when he was trying to steal a generator from the premises behind the 3rd Secretariat.

Guardsmen Lingbirth Arengh and Darmiki Langstang spotted the person while passing near 3rd Secretariat and found his action to be suspicious, thereby causing them to apprehend him.

They informed their superiors and the person was later handed over to the police from Sadar Police Station for necessary actions.
