Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School in Williamnagar conducted a momentous prayer service dedicated to fostering peace and unity in Manipur. Led by the school principal and Parish Priest Father Anthony Thekkanath, the service took place within the school premises.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, the forum said, “We would earnestly request you to kindly consider and give 15% quota, as and when the existing Reservation Policy is reviewed, to the Indigenous Minority Tribes of Meghalaya specifically for- Hajongs, Koches, Rabhas, Boro-Kacharies and Manns and give them a scope to grow and come at par with the Khasis, Garos and Jaintias.”
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday informed that a meeting was held with officials of Ministry of Rural development to review the implementation of various schemes under the Ministry focusing on the vision for the next 5 years in Social Infrastructure and Human Development.
He said that he has checked on the measures that has taken by the Districts & to ensure arrangements are made in the eventuality of further heavy rains in the days to come.
