Within a fortnight of the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, another horrific incident of rape of a minor has come to light from Assam’s Nagaon district. Hundreds of residents of Dhing village took to streets on Friday to protest the rape, and demanded for immediate arrest of the culprits.
The girl had been reported missing since Monday morning, prompting the Basistha police to file a missing persons complaint and initiate an investigation.
The body of a 17-year-old girl was recovered from the resident of one Moni Rajwar at Dhekeri Gaon in Banipur area of eastern Assam Dibrugarh on Sunday night.
