Taking a serious view of the harassment meted out to a Garo Hills missionary nun by a group of men in a public bus in Assam, last week, the Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) on Friday condemned the unfortunate incident in Assam in the strongest of words and urged for a coordinated effort from both the Assam and Meghalaya governments to bring the culprits to book.
Moving a zero hour notice, TMC legislator Charles Pyngope narrated to the house the incident, saying that a nun, identified as Sister Rosemary, serving in South Garo Hills faced harassment from a group of passengers and also the bus conductor while travelling to Goalpara.
