The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) on Friday said the charges of nepotism, favouritism and deviation from the normal process of conduct of examinations are baseless.

The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has demanded the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to display the marks secured by all candidates appearing for the Meghalaya Civil Service (Prelims) Examination following alleged irregularities in the recruitment.

The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC)’s decision to reassess OMR answer sheets of over 63 candidates appearing in the Meghalaya Civil Services (Prelims) Examination 2022 & 2023 have stoked a huge controversy in the State with the opposition AITC calling for transparency and demanding independent inquiry into what it has termed as ‘criminal conspiracy’.

The Garo community is especially concerned with the recruitment since only 4 Garo candidates were recruited against their quota of 7 posts out of the total 18 posts.

The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) on Tuesday demanded the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to immediately declare the results for the posts of assistant engineer in the community & rural development (C&RD) department.

The Meghalaya cabinet on Wednesday notified the service rules of the MPSC.
