In order to discourage sale of tobacco products in and around the educational institutions, the West Khasi Hills Police recently penalized shops in Nongstoiñ selling tobacco products in close proximity to schools.
Court of the Special Judge (POCSO), Nongstoin, has sentenced one person to 10 years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 20,000 for sexual assault of a minor. At the same time, the court has acquitted another accused in the case.
