MD MeECL to Hub News: Ongoing dry spell in Meghalaya, not to affect power supply

Chairman cum Managing Director of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL), Sanjay Goyal has assured that the there would be no scheduled load shedding in the coming days. He stated that, "the state is in a position to provide uninterrupted electricity supply for the next five to six weeks even if the monsoon is delayed".

With Meghalaya’s power dues threatening to reach a massive figure of Rs. 1000 crores, Meghalaya government on Wednesday decided to clear Rs 565 crore pending power dues to National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in 20 installments.
