The Yatra covered approximately 1.5 kilometers within Nagaland, reaching the Assam border at 9.30 a.m., marked by a formal 'flag handover' at the interstate border.
Speaking to reporters, Sarma said, “Rahul Gandhi is politicising the Pran Pratishtha program. It is not a political program; it is a religious program because it is a historic day for all of us. It is a day of triumph for Indian civilisation. Your (Rahul Gandhi) political associates have boycotted the function, thereby turning it into a political function, which it is not.”
During interactions with the media, Rahul Gandhi stated, "It is challenging for us (Congress) to attend the January 22 function as it is Modi’s event. The BJP consistently imparts an election-oriented tone to various occasions, even those of a religious nature. We uphold the principles of equal respect for all religions."
Rahul Gandhi and some of his team members enjoyed tea and snacks at Kim Chow Hotel. Following which, Kim Chow hotel, managed by three sisters and their mother, garnered attraction from many locals after Gandhi left for Senapati.
Several people, mostly women and children, had lined up along the yatra route and cheered on Gandhi as his bus made its way along several busy areas in Imphal.
