The SSA teachers under the banner of the All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association (AMSSASTA) and the All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) had served an ultimatum to the state government to consider enhancing salary of SSA teachers in Meghalaya by September 30, failing which they would be compelled to launch an indefinite state-wide protest
Informing this here on Sunday, Commissioner & Secretary, Education Vijay Kumar Mantri said that the second meeting of the Rationalisation Committee constituted by the state government to examine the proposal for enhancement and rationalizatiion of the salaries of all Samagra Shiksha (Non-Academic) Staff at the State, Districts and Block level will be held on August 8.
The All Meghalaya SSA Non-Teaching Staffs Association (AMSSANTSA) on Wednesday kicked started its indefinite sit-in-demonstration after rejecting the state government’s decision to enhance the salary of 1037 non-teaching staff under SSA by 25 percent instead of 80 percent as demanded.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma on Tuesday informed that the department has submitted a proposal to the finance department for considering hiking the salary of over 1200 SSA non-teaching staff.
