The Chewabhanjyang-Uttarey road which started in 2016 by the State's roads and bridges department, is the first road connectivity to the Indo Nepal border roughly estimated to be 12-16 kms from Uttarey.
Sikkim and its neighbouring regions of Darjeeling have experienced a significant increase in male representation in national and international pageants in recent years. Previously, such participation was rare in these areas.
