The preliminary investigation conducted by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has found that the goods train was speeding at 40-45 kmph instead of 10-15 kmph when it collided with the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjunga Express on Monday morning near Jalpaiguri in West Bengal's Darjeeling district, that killed at least nine passengers and injured 41 others due to the derailment of the Kanchanjunga Express.
