Following the public outrage over demolition of the cenotaph of Garo Labour Corps, a symbol of Garos history of perseverance, bravery and sacrifice, Chairman of the Tura Municipal Board (TMB), Dr. J.D. Sangma has clarified that the ‘redevelopment’ of the cenotaph is to create a better infrastructure so that the Garo Labour Corps Day can take place in a befitting manner.
