Marak was one of the ACHIK leaders who was on indefinite hunger strike before the meeting with CM Conrad K Sangam on July 24 at CM’s Mini Secretariat in Tura.
Following his arrest he had complained of feeling unwell for which the authorities had to take him to the hospital for medical attention and was admitted to Tura Civil Hospital.
