The ongoing student protest at the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has taken a dramatic turn with violence finding its way into the week-long peaceful protest. Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla made a narrow escape in the wee hours of Sunday morning when his Bungalow was attacked by miscreants.

Vice Chancellor of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla on Monday commended the resolute commitment displayed by affiliated colleges in swiftly adopting the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
“NEHU has already taken a decision to implement the NEP and till date, I have not received (any communication from) our principals and students. None of the principals have sent me any mail that they don’t want to implement the NEP,” Shukla told reporters.
