Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh on Thursday announced that Shillong’s iconic Ward’s Lake will soon be officially retransferred to the Tourism Department, paving way for a major revamp.
Shillong came alive with its first ever Spoken Festival, witnessing a literary and artistic celebration like never before at the scenic Ward’s Lake in Shillong on Friday.
The four projects are Development of Commercial Building at Polo Junction, Mechanised Multi-Level Car Parking at Vivekananda Road, Near Additional Secretariat and Polo Commercial Complex, Beautification of Iewduh Market and Improvement and Beautification of Five Lakes in the State and the Ward’s Lake Promenade.
The three-day literary festival provided an opportunity for the authors from the State and outside to launch their books and engage in meaningful and insightful interactions with other authors, prominent members of society and audiences.
