The 39th edition of the Meghalaya State Badminton Championship 2024 has drawn to a close on Saturday with boys from West Garo Hills delivering an impressive performance in the final matches clinching a total of four medals.
In a major crackdown on drug peddling and curbing the menace of drugs in Garo Hills region, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of West Garo Hills has seized 311 vials of heroin from different parts of the district in the past week alone.

The three-day tournament, held from August 15 to 17, was organized by the Tura Badminton Association in collaboration with the District Sports Office, West Garo Hills and with the special monetary sponsorship received from the Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
