Shillong, May 1: Ri Bhoi Police on Thursday arrested three individuals for allegedly stealing diesel from Reliance Jio mobile towers in Jirang village, Ri Bhoi district.
According to a police report, the arrest took place around 3 AM when a vehicle was intercepted at the Patharkhmah PWD Junction. Upon inspection, police recovered six plastic jerry cans containing approximately 220 to 230 litres of diesel. The fuel was reportedly siphoned from three nearby mobile towers.

The three occupants of the vehicle are identified as Refer Marsing of Mawtari Thaiang village, Robren Langi and Rishad Sylliang, both of Umkra village. After the arrest, the trio confessed to the theft during preliminary interrogation and were taken into custody.
