Tura, Nov 5: In an initiative to motivate the community towards a healthier lifestyle, the Tura Runners’ Club (TRC) organized the fifth edition of the annual ‘Turathon’ on Sunday morning, at Bolbokgre in Jengjal under West Garo Hills.
The marathon, featuring full and half marathon, was held on the NH44E, a picturesque countryside location on the Tura – Shillong highway, and a visual treat to the runners and spectators. The Turathon 2023 edition saw a turnout of over 300 participants from all walks of life.

Participants in the 42k category had their U-turn point at the Megagre Bridge, precisely at the 21km mark. The age group eligible for this category was from 18 years to 65 above.
For the 21k category, the return point was marked at Rongalgre, positioned at the halfway mark of 10.5km, with eligible age group being 18 years to 65 above.
