Guwahati, Nov 2: At least 10 trains were cancelled after a loaded goods wagon derailed inside tunnel no. 2 near Mupa on the Lumding-Badarpur hill section in Assam around 4 p.m. on October 31. The incident disrupted services across the section, impacting routes to and from Agartala, Secunderabad, and other destinations.
Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Frontier Railway, said that repair and restoration work is underway, with senior railway officials on-site to oversee the efforts.
Among the affected services, the Guwahati-Agartala and Agartala-Secunderabad trains scheduled for Friday, and the Agartala-Firozpur Cant. train scheduled for Thursday were cancelled. Additionally, partial cancellations affected the Bengaluru-Agartala Humsafar Express, Sealdah-Sabroom Kanchenjunga Express, Anand Vihar Terminal-Agartala Tejas Rajdhani Express, and the Thiruvananthapuram-Silchar train.
