Agartala, Jan 28: After miscreants ransacked the house of BJP minority front leader Jalal Mian on Wednesday night at Chhataria in Tripura’s Udaipur for hosting the national flag on Republic Day defying the warning by a group of youth, police have started investigation into the matter.
Through a live video call, Jalal Mian sought the help of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb for survival during the attack carried out by a group allegedly led by BJP leaders Phani Bhusan Majumdar, Shahjan Ali and Pritam Sarkar.
No arrests have been made so far by police after he sought the help of CM Biplab Deb.
Jalal, a contractor and leader of the ruling party, alleged that local BJP leaders have been fighting with him after he installed a statue of former President and Missile Man of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, on his 90th birth anniversary last year at his house. They wanted him to dismantle the statue of Kalam as the party didn’t like it but he did not agree, Jalal claimed.
Recently, many incidents of violence and vandalism have been reported from Tripura.
“We have started investigation into the matter. No arrest has been made so far but soon we will book the miscreants who were involved in the ransacking of the house of BJP leader,” said a police official.
