Guwahati, March 30: The BJP has decided to issue a show cause notice to MLA Jadab Lal Nath who was found watching obscene videos while the assembly session was in progress.
According to sources, Nath was watching some obscene content on his mobile phone. He was scrolling down and again paying notice to the assembly proceedings.
Commenting on this issue, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharya said that the party would soon issue a notice to the MLA asking him to make his stand clear on the issue.
“This matter has been brought to our notice. We have already discussed the matter with our party and have decided to issue a notice seeking his reply on the matter. If we are not satisfied with his answer, we will take action against him,” Bhattacharya stated.
Nath, an MLA from the Bagbasa assembly constituency under the North Tripura district, was elected to the state assembly for the first time in the February 2023 election.
It is to be mentioned here that this is not the first instance where a BJP MLA has been caught watching obscene videos during assembly processings.
Earlier, in 2012, Karnataka BJP leader Laxman Savadi was caught watching a porn clip on his phone in the state assembly along with another minister CC Patil.
The two ministers then quit the Assembly following public outrage.
