The confrontation resulted in injuries to approximately 12 individuals, including Rathindra Debbarma, the Officer-in-Charge of Takarjala Police Station, a constable and damage of several two-wheelers, casting a shadow of tension over the entire locality.

The BJP had been conducting a campaign in the Takarjala and Jampuijala areas for the past few days, culminating in a planned workers’ conference led by Rajib Bhattacharya, the state president. This conference was slated to occur at the Bukruai Community Hall in Jampuijala block.

However, Tipra Motha supporters allegedly obstructed BJP workers from Takarjala and Jampuijala, preventing their attendance at the BJP workers’ conference.

Reportedly, nine BJP workers sustained injuries in an altercation allegedly initiated by Tipra Motha supporters, prompting a retaliatory response.

Speaking to reporters, the BJP state president outlined their objective of bolstering the BJP’s presence across the state with the goal of winning both parliamentary seats in the upcoming general election as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He asserted that miscreants obstructed their supporters from attending the meeting, sparking the conflict.

All the injured individuals received medical treatment at the Takarjala Primary Health Center.

Following this, Takarjala MLA and Tipra Motha leader Biswajit Koloi arrived at the scene. He accused the BJP of importing outsiders into the area and inciting violence that harmed local residents. Koloi also criticized the role of the police and the ruling party in the incident and accused that everything was pre planned.

This incident has disrupted daily life in Jampuijala and Takarjala, with the area remaining tense. Large number of security forces have been deployed in the area to prevent further escalation of violence.
