Agartala, Jan 6: Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi, on Friday said that sculptures made by the artists of Tripura would be installed at various locations of Varanasi, the poll constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Lekhi visited Nazrul Kalakshetra and interacted with the artists and sculptures and praised their work.
Speaking to reporters, Meenakshi Lekhi said, “We are proud of India’s traditional civilization, culture and heritage. Our country will become more powerful if we all respect each other’s language, religion and culture. The sculptures that are made by the artists here will be installed at all populated places of Varanasi, poll constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in future. Such initiative has been taken for the first time.”
She added that nearly 10 crore people visit Varanasi every year and the craftsmanship of the state artists would reach to the people throughout the country through installation of their sculptures.
A 45-day long workshop was organised at Nazrul Kalakshetra where over 50 artists including students of Tripura College of Art and Crafts took part, which was jointly organized by the NEZCC and Lalitkala Akademi.
