Agartala, Dec 17: The Viswa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) Tripura unit on Sunday announced to hold a fortnight-long initiative of distributing ‘akshat’ collected from temple sites across the state from January 1 to 15, 2024 for the inauguration of the iconic Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.
Talking to reporters, VHP’s Tripura unit secretary Shankar Roy said that the Hindutva organization would also hold door-to-door campaigns in the period and appeal people to join the Ram Mandir’s inaugural event at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
Ram Mandir authorities have sent akshat prasad to Tripura and other states of the country, which involves some whole rice, along with turmeric and ghee, as god offerings from Akshat Pujan – a ritual from Uttar Pradesh.
“Our activists have already gone to all eight districts of the state along with the akshat prasad, where it is being kept in major temples there. Later, our activists will visit all sanatani family of all eight districts and will hand over a leaflet, a laminated photograph of Ram Mandir and some akshat prasad, appealing to them to join the inaugural event of Ram Mandir on January 22,” Roy stated.
Ram temple’s consecration began in Ayodhya with the performance of akshat pujan last month.
Over 200 VHP activists throughout the country collected 101 brass kalash carrying five kilos of akshat each from the site of the forthcoming Ram Mandir to be distributed to over 5 lakh villages from January 01 to 15, 2024.
Overall 7,500 people were formally invited to join the Ram Mandir inaugural event at Ayodhya including hermits, social workers and some eminent personalities like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat etc.
