Tura, June 21: The toppers of SSLC Exam 2023 was felicitated on Wednesday at District Library Tura. The felicitation program for toppers was organised by the Department of Education in collaboration of Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE).
Rakkam A Sangma Edu Minister, Samphliang Advisor to govrnment of Megh.Edu dept, Rupert Momin, MLA Karkutta JD Sangma, TMB Chairman Prabin Bakshi, comm secy Edu dept. Swapnil Tembe, Director school education Literacy Ambrose Ch Marak, IAS Exe. Chairman MBOSE, Jagdish Chelani, DC West Garo Hills, Mitali Chandra l, DC North Gro Hills, Vibhor Agarwal, DC East Garo Hills, DC South, R.P Marak DC Southwest and Shivansh Avasthi DC South Garo Hills. Also, all the district heads were also present along with Mbose and Edu dept. officials.
The felicitation program started with song by Sherwood School followed by speech. Also, a colorful Wangala dance was also performed by Dokaku Arts and Culture.
Here is what Swapnil Tembe saidÂ
Joint Secretary of Education Department and Director of School Education & Literacy and Special Project Director – SSA, Swapnil Tembe in his speech talked about the three very important C’s which includes,
– communication skills
– Computer skills
– Confidence
He also said that all the student should also have a career counseling as it is an important factor for students to decide their future path.
Pravin Bakshi’s speech
Meanwhile, Pravin Bakshi in his speech said that the students sitting here (in the felicitation program) are a shinning example to other students. He said a lot of educational reforms will occur this year. Bakshi also said “adopt a school” program is a must to individuals who can adopt and become mentor to that partic school
He also said thar an indepth disctrict wise reviews will also be conducted by the Education Department.
Bakshi further said that mobile app will also be introduced where teachers attendance will be taken.
HM Samphliang’s speechÂ
HM Samphliang in his speech during the event said that previously some schools in Shillong were taking the positions but now schools in Tura has changed the scenario. He said he is roud to see the spot taken by the schools in Garo Hills.
Samphlian also thanked the teachers for guiding the students for achieving better results.
He also said that in coming days the district head i.e Deputy Commissioner’s will take responsibility at district level rather than sending the issues to Shillong so that it can be resolved locally.
Rakkam A Sangma Speech
Meanwhile, Rakkam A Sangma in his speech praised the efforts of all the toppers and said that this is just the begining of a new journey.
He also praised Chief Minister Conrad Sangma’s effort for bringing many reforms in many deparments including the education departments.
Sangma also requested the DC’s to go back to respective districts and find out the gap on why education is lacking.
