Tura hosts Dhak Competition cum Cultural Programme 2024; list of winners announced

Tura, Oct 17: The Central Puja Committee (CPC) organised a Dhak Competition cum Cultural Programme 2024 at the Police Parade Ground in Tura on Thursday evening.

Gracing the event was Meghalaya Speaker Thomas A Sangma and NPYF working president Dabo M Marak, along with committee members of CPC and representatives of various Durga Puja Committees of Tura.

The event witnessed prize distribution for the Dhak Competition, followed by culture programme and performances by various invited artists.

There was also distribution of prizes for the best puja pandals in different categories.

In his speech, Speaker Thomas Sangma expressed his delight to be present at the vibrant event organized by the central puja committee in Tura. He also emphasized the importance of appreciating the dedication and hard work of the talented participants in the competition.

The Speaker also took the opportunity to thank the central puja committee for organizing and promoting cultural heritage through such event, which is vital for keeping traditions alive, and events like this are said to enrich the community’s cultural landscape and inspire appreciation for the diversity that surrounds them.
