Tura, April 29: In the sixth match of the Super Division, a big win was witnessed as West Balalgre dominated Garuda Foundation with a dominating 6-0 victory on Monday at P. A. Sangma Stadium, Tura.
The game appeared to be a good match of both skills and strength in the first half, during which both teams created several chances but failed to find the back of the net.
However, in the 30th minute, the deadlock was broken after Erak Sangma of West Balalgre Club scored the first goal of the match. With the ball possession mostly in the middle of the field for the entire play, the first half ended with a 1-0 scoreline in favor of West Balalgre Club.
Returning from halftime, the players of West Balalgre Club seemed to have been rejuvenated after a pep talk with their manager during the fifteenth halftime break. They dominated the entire first quarter of the second half and their efforts paid off when Sengrin Sangma scored the second goal in the 61st minute, followed by Jethon Marak in the 71st minute. The quick succession of goals in the second half motivated the players to push for more.
By the 80th minute mark of the second half, West Balalgre Club’s midfielders controlled most of the possession delivering precise passes to the forwards and overpowering the tiring Garuda Foundation side. Tesrang, Jethon, and Raksan scored consecutive goals in the 81st, 87th, and 88th minute, respectively ended the match in a staggering 6-0 victory for the Balalgre side.
Bartholomeo Sangma of Garuda Foundation received a yellow card in the 29th minute of the first half, resulting in a suspension for the next match due to accumulation of cards.
With this win, West Balalgre moves up to fourth place in the table with 3 points in two matches played.
