Shillong, Sept 21: Two persons have been arrested for their involvement in the alleged murder of a 36-year-old man at Laitkor, on the outskirts of Shillong city, on September 19.
The two accused have been arrested within 48 hours of commission of the crime, East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as William Nongrum from Khanduli.

On receiving information on September 19, the SP said the Police rushed to the spot and found one person was lying in a pool of blood within the compound of a vehicle workshop belonging to Farid Mukhim at Laitkor Mawrie, Lumheh.
On careful observation, it was found that the person had injury marks on his head and that he appeared to be dead.
On suspicion of murder, the Crime Scene Unit Team was informed of obtaining clues and evidence from the place of occurrence.
One steering wheel which is suspected to have been used for committing the offence and a mineral water bottle with half a bottle of liquor were seized from the spot.
The dead body was shifted to NEIGRIHMS Hospital on September 20. The body of Nongrum was identified by his relatives.
