Two Congress MDCs and Ex-MDC join NPP

Shillong, Feb 19: Sitting Congress MDCs Batskhmen Ryntathiang from Mairang and Carness Sohshang from Mawkyrwat constituency were inducted in the National People’s Party on Monday by National President Conrad K. Sangma and State President Prestone Tynsong.

Former MDC from Sohra Donevan Kharwanlang was also inducted in the party.

National President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said that the induction of the three leaders into the party will strengthen the NPP family and will further the objective of the party.

He said that the NPP has seen immense support from different parts of the State, which is reflected as leaders and supporters are joining the party in huge numbers. He also pinned hoped in the party candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh for the Shillong seat.

“We have received information from different parts of Khasi -Jaintia Hills that our candidate is doing good. There is a major task ahead and unitedly we have to content the upcoming Lok Sabha election”, he added.

Sangma also told the gathering that NPP Government is working tirelessly to accelerate growth and development in the State. He informed that NPP has chart out a road map for Meghalaya’s growth and has been working in a systematic manner to achieve it goals.

“The visible change and development of the State is being witnessed by the people of our State. I am sure that people will repose their faith in the party in the upcoming election”, he said.

State President Prestone Tynsong completed the official formalities for their membership into the party. Speaking on the occasion, Tynsong said that NPP as a party is upbeat for the upcoming election and support from the leaders will play an important role in connecting with the grassroot.

National Vice President Snaiwbhalang Dhar, Lok Sabha candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh and host of senior party leaders including A.T. Mondal. Rakkam Sangma and others were present in the induction ceremony which was held at Party Office in Shillong.
