UCFNEI calls for prayers to promote peace and unity in volatile Manipur

Must read

Shillong, May 06: As the situation continues to be volatile with many groups vying for power and control in Manipur, the United Christian Forum of NEI (UCFNEI) has appealed to all communities to join in a collective effort to pray for peace, harmony, and the stopping of all violence and killing in Manipur during the Prayer Services in their respective Churches and fellowships.

In an emergent meeting held in Guwahati on Friday, the UCFNEI members felt that prayer could be a powerful tool to bring people together and appeal for divine intervention and guidance. They believe such an effort can contribute to a more peaceful and stable environment in the region and promote a positive change for the better while respecting humanity.

To that end, on May 7 (Sunday), the UCFNEI has invited all Churches and denominations to join in a collective effort to pray for peace, harmony, and an end to violence in Manipur during the Prayer Services in their respective Churches and fellowships.

“The UCFNEI hopes that the coming together of people of different faiths in prayer will demonstrate their solidarity and commitment to a peaceful resolution and create a positive impact on the situation,” stated Allen Brooks, spokesperson for the UCFNEI.

UCFNEI further urged everyone to include a special prayer for Manipur during their Sunday service. It strongly believes that promoting unity and prayer can prevent further bloodshed and suffering, and bring about a peaceful resolution to the volatile situation in Manipur.
