Shilling, Nov 6: Leader of Opposition and MLA of Songsak Dr. Mukul M. Sangma today said that different militant outfits in the State are ‘regrouping’ on the behest of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).

“It is the threat for the region and Garo Hills and West and South West Khasi Hills,” Dr. Sangma said.

“Garo Hills, West and South West Khasi Hills is considered a safe corridor by different insurgent outfits of Northeast,” he added.

He said that since 2019, the militants have been regrouping in the State.

“I have raised the alarm bell. I am told that ULFA leaders who are acquainted with the terrains of Garo Hills are reaching out to members of different outfits”, he said, while claiming that small outfits in Garo Hills are trying to regroup.
