Dibrugarh, April 19: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP candidate , contesting from Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat exercised his right as an early voter and was among the many who cast their votes in the first hour. He casted his vote at Laxminath Bezbarua Bhawan polling booth in Chowkiding.
Long queues were seen outside booths since morning as polling was underway for five constituencies in Assam in the first phase on Friday.
Speaking to Hub News after casting his vote, he said that , “it is really a good sign that people are coming out in large numbers. People’s spontaneous participation will strengthen democracy “.
He claimed that the ,”people are happy under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and that is why they are coming out in large numbers.”
