Explaining on the concept of ‘Winter Tales festival’, the Chief Minister said the idea is to have an event to celebrate Christmas as well as push few other concepts.“Firstly, we aim to promote the local artists, promote the local products, which is a continuation of what we’re doing in the Meghalayan Age store, and in fact the entire work that’s been happening for the last year and a half. Another is to push towards sustainable kind of a set up. Out here every product that’s used in this particular place is really more or less plastic free and the natural products that we have, so the idea is to make it a very green Christmas and a green kind of a festival,” he said.
Besides the local artists, the festive is also hosting works of artists from different parts of the world who have made their paintings on Meghalaya.
The chief minister also took the opportunity to wish the citizens of the state a Merry Christmas and also urged everyone to visit the festival.

He also informed that the government aims to hold it festival every year and will also try to improve it. On the marathon of festivals of late, he said the state hasn’t been able to do much due to the COVID-19 pandemic but now the government hopes that things go well to make it a calendar event.
