Jowai, Aug 8: Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla on Monday donated Rs. 50,000 to the Under-14 football team of Mihmyntdu RC EVE Secondary School, which won the state level Subroto Mukherjee Cup 2022, and will represent the State in Delhi for the National level Sub Junior Boys Subroto Mukherjee Cup 2022 from September 6 to 15, 2022.
In his speech, Shylla said many a times schools representing and competing in such tournaments are those with reputation, which are well equipped and the students come from well to do families and these schools are in urban areas but this school (Mihmyntdu RC EVE Secondary School) is not only situated in the rural area but many students belong to poverty stricken families.
He also urged the students not to waste their talents but to work and improve them.
Earlier, District Sport Officer, Khroobok Passah stated that he never expected the school from the district level to represent the state in Delhi and wished the boys the best and to work harder so that they will bring laurels to the District and the State.
